How much does it cost to install aluminum gutters in Quebec?

Prices start at $8 per linear foot for seamless aluminum gutters, including materials and labor. The final cost depends on your home’s height, the number of roof slopes and corners, the chosen color, and the total length to be covered. A complete system for a standard bungalow typically starts at $1,000. The home’s architecture can significantly affect the price, depending on whether the roof has two or four slopes. What is the difference between seamless gutters and standard gutters?

Seamless gutters (also known as continuous gutters) are custom-made as a single piece right in front of your home using our mobile roll-forming unit. Standard gutters sold at hardware stores are assembled from sections connected by joints that eventually leak due to freeze-thaw cycles. “Seamless” means zero seams, zero leaks, and significantly less long-term maintenance.

What is the lifespan of an aluminum gutter?

A properly installed seamless aluminum gutter lasts an average of 30 to 50 years, depending on maintenance and the environment. Aluminum is naturally resistant to rust and corrosion, making it the most popular choice in Quebec. Regular cleaning and the installation of gutter guards help maximize the system’s lifespan.

Do we need gutter guards?

We highly recommend it, especially if your home is surrounded by trees. A gutter guard prevents leaves, branches, and debris from blocking water flow. In winter, it also acts as a barrier against ice formation inside the gutter. We install Alu-Rex products, which are designed to withstand Quebec’s weather conditions. Adding a gutter guard costs an average of $5 to $8 extra per linear foot.

What are the signs that gutters need replacing?

Here are the most common signs :

  • Gutters overflowing during normal rainfall;
  • Visible cracks or holes;
  • Gutters detaching from the fascia;
  • Peeling paint;
  • Water stains on exterior walls;
  • Water accumulating near the foundations;
  • Leaking joints between sections.

If you notice one or more of these signs, it is important to act quickly to avoid damage to the foundations.

How does the installation of seamless gutters work?

Our team arrives at your home with a truck equipped with a mobile roll-forming machine. The gutter is custom-made from an aluminum coil right on-site and then attached to your roof fascia using internal screw-in hangers. A full residential installation typically takes a few hours. We also handle the removal of your old gutters and site cleanup.

Do you offer gutters in different colours?

Yes, our aluminum gutters are available in a wide variety of colors to perfectly match your exterior siding, fascia, or brickwork. Standard colors like white, black, and brown are the most popular, but special orders for specific shades are also possible. The baked enamel finish is weather-resistant and does not fade.

What are a soffit and a fascia, and why are they important?

The fascia is the finishing board attached to the ends of the roof rafters, where your gutters are mounted. The soffit is the covering beneath the eaves (the underside of the roof overhang). These two components protect your roof structure against water infiltration, insects, and pests, while also ensuring proper attic ventilation. If your fascia is rotten or damaged, it must be repaired before installing new gutters.

Do you repair gutters?

Yes, we offer a gutter repair service for common issues such as leaks, sagging sections, clogged downspouts, and broken hangers. In some cases, a repair is sufficient, and a full replacement isn’t necessary. We assess the situation on-site and provide an honest recommendation regarding what is worth repairing versus replacing.

When is the best time to install gutters?

The installation season runs from spring through late autumn. Spring is ideal as it prepares you for the summer rains, while autumn offers protection before winter arrives. Work can also be carried out in early winter, depending on conditions. We recommend avoiding the last minute during peak season (May to September), as wait times are longer. Plan early to secure the best availability.

How often should you clean your gutters?

Cleaning at least twice a year is recommended : once in the spring after the snow melts, and once in the autumn after the leaves fall. If your house is surrounded by trees, a third cleaning in mid-summer may be necessary. Clogged gutters can cause overflows, water infiltration, and foundation damage. Installing gutter guards significantly reduces the frequency of maintenance but does not eliminate it entirely.
